Signs of a bad economy

I keep hearing how bad the economy is, but I have yet to really see it until today. I got an email from my bank that said this.

Dear James,
Customer Number:
This is a notification that a large purchase was made using your Electric Orange Card that exceeds your designated amount. Here are the transaction details:

This security email was sent because you elected to receive an Email Notification any time a large dollar transaction is processed using your Electric Orange card. This adds to the safety and security of your account. You can review and change your Email Notification settings at any time by logging into your account at
and clicking on the 'Preferences' tab.
Really? A dollar six is considered a large purchase now? I know you guys had to lay off some people ING, but I don't think a dollar is worth added precautions.

Edit: for the record I don't even have a designated amount set to send me an email.
